Live from Japan – Alumnus Blog

Wondering what it’s like to walk through the streets of Japan right now?  NC Alum Wesley Cheek can tell you…

Cheek has been living in Japan since graduating in 2001.  He documents the experience on his blog, Spacetravelsacrime.  Here’s an excerpt from his bio:

Wesley Cheek is a 2001 graduate of the New College at the University of Alabama where he was an editor of the New College Review.  He has lived in Japan since graduation and teaches junior high while editing this website.  For a fleeting few years in the mid 2000s he was the host of “Radio Junkie” on Miyazaki’s Sunshine FM and a writer for SORA magazine.  If you want to give him a better job, he will not argue with you.

Here’s the link.  We’ll let Wesley do the rest…

Can you believe New College is 40?

We have much to celebrate, folks.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21 and, if you are able, plan to join current students, faculty, staff and alumni as we gather to reconnect, to reminisce and reflect on four decades of New College.

Details to come…
